Mentoring

Peer mentors are a wonderful part of TRiO SSS!  Returning members are paired with new freshman to provide guidance, both academically and socially, and a smooth transition to Columbia College.

Interested in being a peer mentor?

Qualifications:

• Returning TRiO SSS members (30 hours of college credit completed)
• Academic good standing
• Positive attitude and knowledge of CC resources
• Good match for an incoming new member and desire to help others succeed

Responsibilities:

• Participate together in a TRiO SSS activity at least once a month
• Meet at least once a month for an activity outside of TRiO SSS
• Maintain written records
• Meet regularly with the Tutor/Mentor Coordinator
